If a child is at immediate risk
Call 999.
If you are worried about a child but it is not an emergency, contact the local authority safeguarding team or the police rather than waiting for us. If the concern is about our service, ring the office and ask for a registered manager, and put it in writing to the same office afterwards.
Safer recruitment
Enhanced DBS checks, references taken up and verified, gaps in employment history explained, and identity and right to work confirmed before anyone works with a child.
Designated safeguarding lead and policy
The registered managers act as designated safeguarding leads. A concern raised with any member of staff reaches a safeguarding lead the same day, and reaches the placing authority without delay where a child may be at risk.
The safeguarding policy is reviewed annually and available to commissioners, referrers and families on request.
