How to make a referral
A registered manager reads every referral, and you get a yes or a no rather than silence.
What we need with a referral
- The young person's first name or initials, age and gender
- Legal status, whether Section 20, Section 31, care leaver, EHCP or other
- A summary of needs
- Risks and behaviours we should know about
- The current placement and the reason for the move
- The education arrangement
- The funding authority and the funding route
- The date you need the placement to start
Emergency and planned placements
Ring the office for anything urgent. A phone call moves faster than a form, and a registered manager can tell you in one conversation whether it is worth you sending the paperwork.
Matching and impact risk
For any shared setting we assess the impact of a new placement on the people already there before we accept. A placement that destabilises a household helps nobody, including the young person being placed.
Our response time
Referrals sent on a working day get a response the same day.
Speak to the Corby office
You get the people who run the service, not a call centre. Ask for a registered manager.
