Placement criteria
What we take and what we do not, by service, age and need. Read the exclusions first.
Accepted
- Children and young people with learning disabilities and autism
- Physical disabilities and sensory impairments
- Mental health needs
- Children and young people aged 0 to 18 for outreach and home support
- Young adults aged 18 and over for supported accommodation
- Complex needs requiring one to one or two to one support
Not accepted
- Nursing or clinical care. We are registered for personal care, so tracheostomy, ventilation, PEG feeding and seizure management stay with the health professionals responsible for them
- Administration of medication. Our support workers prompt and assist, they do not administer
- Supported accommodation for anyone under 18, which is a separate Ofsted registered activity
Criteria per service
- Outreach and home support
- Ages 0 to 18. Learning disabilities, autism, physical and sensory disabilities, mental health needs and complex needs. Sessions from a few hours a week to daily support.
- Supported accommodation
- Ages 18 and over, including care leavers. The young person must be able to hold a tenancy with support. We do not take under 18s into accommodation under any arrangement.
- Complex needs support
- One to one and two to one staffing. Personal care and behavioural support. Clinical and nursing tasks stay with health professionals, so a referral built on those is not one we can take.
- When we would end a placement
- Only after review with the placing authority, and only where the risks have grown beyond what our staffing and registration can safely hold. Never abruptly, and never as a first resort.
