Support for families and parents
If you are looking for support for your child, this page is for you. You do not need to know the right words for any of it.

How to ask for support
Ring the office, or send the enquiry form on this site. Tell us about your child, what a hard day looks like and what would help. You will speak to someone who works in the service, not a call centre.
What happens next
We talk through what you need, tell you honestly whether we can help, and if we can we explain what it would look like and how it would be paid for. If we cannot help, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
How support gets paid for
- Through the local authority, as part of a package they arrange
- Through direct payments, where the local authority gives you the money and you choose the provider
- Through a personal budget
- Privately, where you arrange and pay for the support yourself
- Not sure, which is where most families start and is completely normal
What a support worker does
Spends agreed hours with your child, at home or out in the community. Helps with routines, personal care, play, communication and getting out. Gives you back some hours in the week.
Short breaks
Some families use outreach mainly for the break it gives them. That is a legitimate reason to ask for support, and you do not need to justify it.

Working with you rather than around you
You know your child better than any professional involved. We work to what already works at home, and we tell you what happened in every session.
Speak to the Corby office
You get the people who run the service, not a call centre. Ask for a registered manager.
